At ASM Pain Relief, I work hard to create a relaxing atmosphere and make your sessions as stress-free as possible. Here are some things to keep in mind if you're new to massage therapy and body work or just new to me:
Typically when you think about massage the long flowing strokes, with a focus on relaxation, of Swedish and Deep Tissue are what come to mind. Everything I do is based on Sports Massage which has a stronger focus on the therapeutic aspect of massage than the relaxation aspect.
What To Wear
Any comfortable clothing is acceptable but, if possible, please wear loose-fitting [gym] clothes that allow you to move with ease while covering you comfortably. Please do no wear any strong perfumes or colognes to the office since many of my clients suffer from headaches and strong smells can trigger migraines. Many colognes and perfumes can be challenging to get out of sheets and hallways; thank you in advance for your consideration!
At ASM Pain Relief, you will not be asked to disrobe for our massage sessions.
Before A Session
Please silence your cellphone before entering the building. Take time to use the restroom before we begin. Plan to remove any jewelry you may be wearing; I will have a safe place for all you personal belongs in the room with you.
If this is your first session at ASM Pain Relief, please visit the Forms page and print an Intake Form. You should fill this form out ahead of time and bring it with you to your appointment. If you are unable to print and/or fill out the Intake Form, please arrive at least 20 minutes early to complete this step in the office.
During A Session
Feel free to communicate with me at any time during a session; if you are uncomfortable or want something specific done, please let me know. Massage is very effective, but only if the client is comfortable. If you are uncomfortable, then my work will not be as effective and you won't get the quality of service you deserve. If you want to stop the session at any time for any reason, all you need to do is ask.
During sessions, as noted above, clients will not be asked to disrobe but, if they choose to do so, full modest draping will be used.
